It´s really simple. I always thought that following Jesus and figuring out who I am was such a complicated and painstaking process. But it´s really simple.
1) Who we are.
Primarily, we are LOVED. This is the reason for our existence. To be loved! (How exciting is that? And why do we make it so hard? Just be loved!) That is the core of a relationship with God. We are children of God, and He wants a relationship with us. It´s really NOT about religion or Ned Flanders Christianity. If you have accepted that you are a Son or Daughter of God – then believe it in any area of your life! Don´t fear anything! Use the power and authority and gifts that He gives you! If you´re not sure about being a Son or Daughter of God, just know that your Creator loves you. So much. So much.
Lesson Learned: In myself, I have absolutely nothing to give. I cannot save anyone. I cannot heal anyone or free anyone. BUT, in Christ, I have everything to give. In His Name, I can do everything He did and more! I can give away what He has given me: Freedom! Love! Healing! Redemption! Empowerment! Encouragement!
2) The world we live in.
Basically, it belongs to God. ¨The earth is the Lord´s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.¨(Psalm 24:1). Satan, a fallen angel, is trying to claim this earth and these people as his, but it really all belongs to God. We are given the permission (the command!) and the power and authority to TAKE IT BACK. Why? Because all satan does is steal, kill, destroy, and lie. And I´m sick of it. I´m sick of seeing hurting people. Let´s fight for them! Because we love them!
3) Our purpose in life.
Love. No, I´m not a hippie. Yes, it is that simple. ¨Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and LIVE A LIFE OF LOVE, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.¨ (Galatians 5:1). Why do I want to bring people healing and freedom and abundant life? Because God loves them. And I love them. I pray that I will love every single person I see (because I want God´s heart, and that is His heart). I pray that I will always be motivated by love.
It´s really that simple.
