So many things have happened in the last couple of weeks and I haven’t blogged about anything yet (sorry everyone!). Here’s a breakdown of what the past couple weeks have been like:

1. Went to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe (I bungee jumped and did the canyon swing!!!)
2. Had a small debrief at a camp in Zimbabwe
3. Crossed borders to Swaziland
4. Had PVT (parent vision trip) in Manzini
5. And now my team and 3 other teams are together in a town called Nsoko. The other 3 teams are in Manzini.

Our entire squad is working with the AIM ministry that is here in Swaziland. They partner with another organization here in Swaziland and they do a lot of different things. One of the ministries they have are care points throughout Swaziland. Care points are centers in different communities where kids receive food, they have a place to play, and they can be in a choir. This week we have been making a fence around the playground. The fence is made of huge tires, so we’ve been digging a trench that’s half the height of the tires, and then once we put the tires in we’ll pack the dirt all around them so they’ll stay. It’s a little hard to explain but hopefully I can show you guys pictures once it’s completed.

It’s a little hard to believe we are in month 10 on the Race and I’m going to be coming home in like 6 weeks. After PVT I talked with my teammates about how their experiences were with their parents coming and it was good to start processing about going back home. Maggie, one of my teammates, wrote a great blog about it so check it out! Her blog is maggiehigginbotham.theworldrace.org
I will try and process some more with you all about how I’m doing with going home and being done with the Race. For now, thanks for keeping updated!

Keep the faith,
Malia
