Welcome to my very first blog post! For some of you this is your first time hearing about the World Race (or the fact that I’m doing it), and for others you have been with me through the process of the last 3 years. For everyone, thank you for being a part of my life – no matter how long we’ve known each other.
Okay so what is the World Race? Well I’m glad you asked. The World Race is a mission trip where my team and I will go to 11 countries in 11 months sharing the gospel of Jesus and serving alongside our contacts. Sometimes our contacts will be a missionary family, or a local pastor, or a church. It is going to look different from month to month because we will be doing whatever they need. That means we may be painting a building, teaching a class, or doing door to door ministry, but wherever we go we will be sharing Jesus with people and helping them get plugged into the church. Our main mission is to support our contact in each country, and spur on the work they are already doing.
One of the cool things about this trip is that you get to be in it with me! Before I leave in January and then throughout the whole trip I will be keeping you all updated on what God is doing, and how you can be praying. It has amazed me already to see how God has used this trip to work on things in my life, and to see other people inspired to look at life differently.
As we all know, something like this costs some money. Here is a breakdown of about how much is going where (it can vary):
- Field Expenses (food, lodging, visas, training etc.): $6,637
- Mobilization Expenses (long distance and local transportation): $8,338
- Management Expenses (WR staff and host development): $2,042
- Total: $17,017
All the envelopes below are numbered 1-160 and each number corresponds to the amount that you want to give. So, pray about it. See if the Lord wants you to give something. If it’s $10, Thank You! If it’s $136, Thank You! If it’s a commitment to being a prayer warrior, Thank You!
How it works: Click on whichever envelope you want to give, and that will take you to the online donation page for the World Race. It will say Choose a Program, make sure you pick Support a World Racer. Next it will say Participant Full Name, put in there Malia Pearson. After that put in the amount you want to give, and click whether you want that to be a one-time, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Last thing, put in the date you want the transaction to take place, and then click continue. Then input your Billing Information, Payment Information, Receipt and Contact Information, and click the green tab to complete your order. Then you’re done!
