I realize now that I haven’t exactly shared what I am doing next now that the Race is over.
I have been substitute teaching since I got back. I love it because I can make my own schedule that way. It makes it easier for me to go out of town or be completely available for my church’s youth group.
I jumped back into involvement with the youth group. I am on of the middle school girls small group leaders. I love the youth group and I am excited I get to spend the next few months sponsoring and helping with most activities.
God has been using my church to encourage and support me without me even knowing it. I had no idea so many people from my church cared about the World Race and what I am doing next. It is so awesome having my large church family be so supportive.
So, what am I doing next?
I am moving to Costa Rica to teach High School Grammar at Glory Christian School in San Pedro. I was in Costa Rica my very first month of the race and within the first week I knew I would be going back some day. That some day is July something. I am not sure of the exact date. I am in a wedding July 19th, so maybe the day or so after the wedding.
FAQs
Where will you live?
I will live with a host family relatively close to the school. They will provide me with lodging and food. And most host families do not speak English, so I will learn Spanish by immersion, the best way to learn!
How long will you be there?
I do not know how long I will be teaching in Costa Rica. I will be there for at least a year and will come home during term breaks (December and June). I will know later if God will have me stay there for longer than the first year.
How much will you get paid?
This is a missionary teaching opportunity, so it is not a paying job. So I will be raising my income through donors, fundraisers and other financial support.

There is a new blog there that I have not posted to this site. Please check out this new blog because this is how you will stay updated with my adventures while I am in Costa Rica. I will also be writing on it while I am here before I move.
Much love,
Malerie
