Women’s Retreat
Upon returning to Swaziland all the Joy girls we quickly recruited to help out with preparations for the women’s retreat that we were putting on. We made cards, signs, bracelets and all sorts of other things to bless the women with. Midway through the week we left for Manzini where the retreat was to take place. More preparations were done and then the women arrived.

We got all the ladies moved into the room where they would be staying, which was a large dorm style room. It was an ok room, but not really nice. The bathroom was leaking water, so the floor was all wet in there, but at least it was a building with a roof, right? Well, Jesus had other plans. That night while we ate dinner, it started to rain, and then the electricity went off in our building, among other things. So the staff at the conference center decided to move the women into another building. This time they moved into nice rooms each with two proper beds, a sink and a closet for their things. So that was a supernatural upgrade from Jesus for his girls!!! The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways.
The whole conference went so well. The women were able to open up and share their stories of hurt and pain, but they all share their faith in God. In Swazi culture, it’s not really appropriate to share your pain in life, but praise God that didn’t hold these women back. Not only did they share but they came around one another and prayed, loved and supported one another, just at the body of Christ is meant to do. It was beautiful to see what the Lord did for these women.
