Moving the Orphans

Over the past two weeks we have been moving some beautiful children to a new site for the orphanage. The purpose of moving them is so they can get power to the site for far less money than the previous site. The kids have just been staying in tents since the cyclone hit about two years ago. As we were packing them up, they were so excited about moving.
They gathered up their stuff as fast as possible with huge smiles on their faces and ran with arm loads to the truck. As I looked on, I saw what to me would be arm loads of junk or garbage, but to them it was their precious possessions; old worn out toys, pieces of brightly colored boxes, scraps of paper…their precious possessions.
I catch myself in these moments wishing with all my heart that I could make thing better for them, to give them a proper house and a family who loves them. But I must trust that the Lord will meet these needs for them, and do what I can in the moment…the best thing I can do…love them.
