We went to church on Saturday night anticipating what Pastor Willie would have for us to do the next week. Ministry can change a lot here as things are rarely ever “set in stone,” but we sat down to plan the next week anyway. Monday we would go to the city dump, Tuesday we would go to a school, Wednesday was a day for evangelism…Evangelism!? Yes, evangelism. You might think me silly for such a reaction. No, this would not be my first time evangelizing, but each time I am sent out to the street I get a small panic inside myself. You see we all have gifts in certain areas…talking with random people on the side of the street has never been my strong suit and has always been one that I tried to avoid. Please do not get me wrong, I love ministry, I just prefer to do ministry in a medical clinic or worship band or even with the kids, just please do not send me out to the streets to pass out tracts. Oh well, our ministry for the day had been decided, tract passing it would be. In addition we were to lead the service Wednesday night as well, something different from the usual service, as requested by the pastor. The service that night really was the highlight of the day as the Lord blessed it! We had just semi-created and learned a new drama the day before incorporating all of our testimonies. We also put together some worship songs to sing that night. Jonathan, one our local contacts and friend played Jesus in our drama and gave a wonderful message. We were quite a bit nervous and we did not have a lot of time to prepare, but the Lord showed up and did his work that night. Some of the people we had invited earlier on in the day came as well! Praise the Lord.
