First off if you got lots of emails about this blog I’m sorry. Its been underdevelopment while I tried to add pics with slow internet. Thank you Jojo for adding them for me!!

Travel days are one of the many things you have to accept on the race. Some people love them, and some dread it more then all the other struggles. I want to tell you about our most recent. Our whole suqad appreciated this one. It truly was a blessing from God.

I want to include the FULL days, so the day of our flight to Africa we went to the Great Wall. About a 6 hour drive round trip. It was beautiful, though it has some sad history.

We left Bejing Wednesday night. The airport was about an hour away by bus, and then all that was left was to check into our flight, the wonders of customs, and then we could sleep on the plane.

The original plan included a layover in Doha Qatar, with us sprinting through the airport to catch the next flight. Not what happened.

Instead we were blessed at the airport. We flew Qatar Airways and they take care of their passengers. We were blessed with a new flight, one leaving 18 hours later. Because the airline made the decision, they also put us up in a hotel, with a voucher for food.
The surprise 18 hours the the middle east was something NO ONE expected.

Jay, my team mate and roommate, spent the day sleeping, eating, and sight seeing. Sleep was first because you only get so much sleep on a plane. The city was beautiful! If extremely hot. It was over 100, and we’d just came from the cold of China. Local customs require shoulders and knees to be covered, but it was worth it for the beauty of the city.We enjoyed the mall, with an ice skating rink, and then went to the Islamic history museum.

That night, Thursday night, we were picked up by the airport for our late night flight to Johannesburg South Africa. Again we landed in the early morning.

Waiting for us were two men hired by El Shaddai, they were our drivers. After loading up we started making our way toward Swaziland. There were only 4 stops along the way. Lunch, a flat tire, the easiest border crossing I’ve ever experienced, and a stop to pick up food for the next few days.

Again we arrived late at night, our first view of the ministry site was the beautiful night sky, the lights from the town, and our home for the month, a beautiful bunk house.

The next morning, Saturday, I realized the blessings were going to continue. We are at the most beautiful site. With mountains and rivers and a cool breeze, and all the beautiful kids we will get to know this month.

4 days and 6 vehicles later and now were ready to begin our African Journey.
