Hello everyone,
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted; I was sick. So I’ll tell you a little about what’s happened since the last update.
- I participated in a Google Hangout with some of my team members. It was amazing, we got to meet one of the mentors for the trip, however he will only be with us in our first country (Thailand). I also learned we’ll have group “Parents,” a couple with lots of missions experience to help us in any way we need. I also learned that in some countries we will have a translator…..one translator for 30 missionaries and an unknown number of locals.
- The FunLetters are almost all sent out. I still need to collect more addresses and that is sometimes hard, facebook has been the main way for friends, and my lovely mother Teresa has collected many of the families addresses (Thank you all so much and if you haven’t received a letter and want to call 804-221-3810, AKA mom, to make sure we have the correct address)
- We reached $2700 for donations! Thank you all so much!! I know more people have pledged to donate or have already sent in their checks, so thank you as well. I will keep you posted as AIM processes the checks (it takes 2 weeks on average).
- I have a POSSIBLE fundraising opportunity that I’m trying to work out the details of. I’m very excited about this and will definitely be keeping you posted! I believe it’s something everyone can benefit from.
- My roommate Rachel got into a missions program in Thailand! So we will both be spending January there. While I’ll be switching countries every month, she will remain in Thailand. Her mission work involves working with women and businesses.
- I will begin making phone calls again today. I couldn’t talk very well last week so phone calls were not a good idea. If you do not receive one soon it is because after today I go back to work and I typically get off at night. I do not want to interrupt anyone who is winding down for the night with an unexpected call. However you may call me at any time and I will return it as soon as I can (which may be 8:30, or later, that night)
