WELCOME TO MY BLOOOOOGGGGGGG! WOOOOOOOO! (Note: The picture above captures the same excitement I have for this blog) I do feel pretty cool since I now have a blog… However for those of you who do not know why I have a blog lemme catch you up!

This is a kinda crappy first blog, but seeing as I have a little over a month to raise 75% of my funding I had to write a crappy first blog in which I beg for money…. Some of you may have received this letter in the mail, however there is a little new information if you wouldn’t mind reading over my rambling words again you may just be enlightened!

Over the last year I have lived the dream at the University of Tennessee as a freshman (a little sarcasm intended). All honesty, it has been both amazing and a struggle. I have made amazing new friends and had amazing new experiences. However, I have also been hit with struggles in the way in which I choose to live my life as a follower of Christ. All this to say though, that I believe this year has been such a roller coaster because Big Papa (that’s God) is readying me… for something big. I feel the Lord has called me to something bigger than myself and, as lame as it sounds, through the use of social media I learned about a trip called The World Race. The World Race is run through a non-profit organization called Adventures in Missions (AIM). After reading up on AIM and the Race, and severally stalking blogs from current and past racers; I feel this is my something big, and my next step.

The World Race Gap Year is a 9 month mission trip in which I will backpack through 3 regions around the world; Central America, Southeast Asia, and Africa shining some light from the Big Man. What makes the World Race Gap Year special is it is designed for kids like me who have graduated from high school or maybe even spent a year or two in school but need something different, want an opportunity to see the world, and an opportunity to change the world. Through the Race I will serve with my team doing community outreach of those less fortunate or trapped in addiction, minister to women and children that are stuck in prostitution due to human sex trafficking, build churches, and share the Gospel to those so desperate for the love of a unfailing Father.

I will face many challenges throughout my time on the Race. A lot I think having to do with spiders or other scary things in my tent or shower, or maybe sleeping in a tent and having a shower scary things can get into… But I am so ecstatic to step out of my comfortable little world for God! However, in order to make this dream a reality I will need help and support from you; both in prayer and financially. Like most missions, participants on the Race are required to fund-raise. In order to leave completely funded in September I need to raise $12,500. This money will cover all of my field expenses for 9 months. As I take this step of faith in my Christian walk, I ask that you prayerfully consider contributing to my journey. If you feel you can contribute in any amount, please please do so.

First I will note that donating to this is included as a tax deduction! There are many ways in which you can contribute a payment to my trip. The first is through this blog! On the left side of the screen there is a link that says Support Me. by clicking that you are able to give an online donation via Credit or Debit card or by eCheck! However there will be an automatically added processing fee to your gift. Fees will be 3% for Credit and Debit cards and 2% for eChecks. The second way you are able to donate is by mailing in a check (they do not accept cash by mail). To do this ask me for a Donation Card that you will be able to fill out. Make the check to Adventures in Missions and in the memo line write my appeal ID which is HOBBSMARGARET. Then you will address the check to:

Adventures in Missions

P.O. Box 742570

Atlanta, GA 30374-2570

Note that it may take a week after receiving the check for it to be fully processed. The final way in which you can donate is through a draft from your bank account. I don’t really know what that means if I’m honest, but its one of the ways to do this so I’m including it! You can do this by clicking on the link Give on adventures.org. And the final and last way you are able to donate is through prayer. I know not everyone will be able to give me money, but prayers for this to go through I feel are just as powerful. The more rocks thrown into the water, the more ripples are made. I firmly believe that prayer works just the same.

Thank you so much for being a part of this super crazy adventure God is sending me on and allowing me to share with you. I ask that you please pray for me and my team, as we take on this journey of a lifetime, that homeboy upstairs guides us in our actions and our words so that all of this ultimately goes back to him. For he deserves all the glory!

                        Thanks two billion!

Ya gurl,

Maggzamillion.
