Lets start with the basics…this is Magen Bradley. I am 23. I live in Tennessee! The best part about my life is my family. For one it’s HUGE! They are always around and it is forever increasing. My mom is beautiful and is perfect for me. I can tell her anything – and show her all sides of who I am. My dad, well, I HAVE to have him. My sister, Erica, is awesome and she made me the happiest person in the world when she made me an aunt. My brother, Blake, is the love of my life. Then my grandparents…I can’t say enough about them. They are what everyone wishes their grandparents would be like. I love having my life close to them. There are more siblings and cousins and relatives that I adore and love but I’ll sum up my family by saying I wish everyone could have a family like I do.
A few random facts about me:
I love the outdoors. I love being in the water. I love the smell of a fire and freshly cut grass. I was a cheerleader in high school. I am a Hanson fan. I read very slowly but absorb a lot. I am a nanny. I am organized. I love a clean room. I tore my ACL swing dancing. I don’t mind shots. I have killed my own food. I gave my life to the Lord on June 7, 1999. I have traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, Thailand and Swaziland. I really like to play. I have not finished college and I’m okay with that. I have hiked down the Grand Canyon. I was an intern for two years at the Honor Academy. Okay that’s enough.
People tend to ask this question, “How you are going to raise the money for the World Race?” when the more important question is “Why are you going?” I want to answer both of these questions.
“How am I going?”….by the favor of the Lord. There is no way for me to put money together to go when I live off of less than what the cost of this trip is. But when the Lord calls you to something and you are obedient to walk in it then He will provide what is needed. It’s as simple as that. Sure I have to work for it because “faith without works is unfruitful”. But God has also provided the Body of Christ which is intended to work together for His glory. We all have different roles…some are senders, some are goers, some are prayer warriors. Right now I am a goer. Therefore, I am trusting the Body to send me and pray for me.
Now “Why am I going?”….because it makes sense. I am a single person who has simply made herself available to the Lord to use however He wants to. When I was 14 I gave my life to the Lord and He placed a desire in me for people – for them to know the Lord. That desire has not changed. So when the Lord says, “Go.” then I go.
One thing that I love about “going” is the lifestyle. I love to live simple. I love how the Body of Christ becomes unified and a family. I love how complacency is not fed. I love the accontability, the selflessness, the dependence on the Lord, the fruit that is reaped, and how the Lord changes me each time. I am “going” to serve the Lord and to bring Him glory. But I am also “going” to be more like Christ, to love more deeply, more sincerely…to be challenged, to grow. I am “going” to find Him and see Him true in every culture, to see His heart.
THE END
