In 1994, Rwanda went through a mass genocide.  Around 1 million people were killed, mostly hacked to death with machetes or beaten with blunt objects.  Those that weren’t killed were tortured, raped and forced to watch family members killed.  It threw a nation of beautiful people into chaos and fear.  A “civil war” – as the world called it – where one people group destroyed another to become superior.  Satan whispered lies of power to the Hutus and thus provoked them to demolish the Tutsi – their own countrymen, their own people.  And what did the world do?  NOTHING!  The world sat back as this terror played out, telling lies to the public, saying it was no big deal.

Left in the remains was spirits of fear, confusionsadness, and hostility.  Even after 18 years, you can still feel these spirits hovering around.  You look into people’s faces and you know that they have suffered greatly, that they remember the torture and the loss, they live knowing that if it happened once, it can happen again.

In each of the countries we’ve visited, there has been a lingering spirit of some sort over the entire country.   In Moldova, the spirit of getting out and wanting more, basically lack of satisfaction.  In Nepal, the spirit of dissention; in India, the spirit of not belonging.  In each country, we have had to fight against these spirits not only in ourselves, but also in the people we met on the streets and in the churches.  This is something I didn’t realize I was up against before I began on this journey.

There is still a mass killing going on in the world that we sit back and ignore.  Every day, Satan is leading more and more people to their deaths and we as Christians are acting like it’s not happening.  We pretend that each of these countries is fighting for itself and doesn’t need us, but God put us on this earth to fight.

Our battle is not against flesh and blood,
But against the rulers, against the authorities
Against the world powers of this darkness,
Against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.
-Ephesians 6:12

During a battle, we need those that go out and fight face to face with the enemy, but we also need those that make the weapons, that protect our homes, that stay back and raise up others to go out and fight.  God has asked me for this year to go out into the battlefield and fight the demons face to face in each of these countries.  It’s exhausting and exhilarating and I know that at home I have those waiting for my return, encouraging me and loving me.  I also have those supporting me financially and prayerfully.  My request is that you continue in this effort at this time, our next financial deadline is 13 days away and I’m still short.  If you are willing to support me in continuing on to another 5 countries to fight the spirits of darkness there, you would be a huge blessing to me.  And I know that God will in turn bless you.

Further more, there is a battle happening in America too.  There are spirits of materialism, egocentrism, and ignorance.  Just as much as I’m fighting spirits here in other countries, I encourage you to pray into the spirits that are binding the communities around you and to put on your armor and fight them!!  Love you all and miss you!!
