SINGLENESS… Yeah, the topic no one really wants to hear about this close to Valentines day, right!? To be honest I didn’t plan this blog to correlate with Valentines day, this topic has just been on my heart lately. One rule AIM asks of us racers is that we do not start a new relationship once we get accepted on the trip until we return home. So here I am ready to embrace my singleness for the next year and a half! And to be honest it hasn’t been an easy start.
Somedays are simply hard and you just feel lonely. You look around and all you see are couples. You want to run in the other direction when someone asks you about your relationship status for what seems like the 100th time. It feels like there are no “good” christian men left (at least not around you). The possibility of starting a relationship without losing site of your values seems nearly impossible. And it feels like you are the only one struggling with this. Although, I can assure you that you are not alone my dear friend!
Here is the thing about waiting, I can’t tell you if it will be worth it.
But here is what I do know, that you can rest in the fact that you were FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made. That you are a daughter of the one true king! You are BEAUTIFUL, you are SACRED, you are TREASURED and most importantly you are LOVED. And in this time of waiting for the “right” guy, God is going to use you in extraordinary ways. Since you have chosen to live a set apart life, Christ will guide you into a beautiful marriage and if He doesn’t God will use your singleness to build His kingdom. God has a plan and a purpose set out for each one of us that is so beautiful we can’t even compare our plans with His. So just know you are not alone my sweet single friends! The wait will be so worth it, so NEVER SETTLE!
