We are so blessed to be given the opportunity to speak to our Father on such an intimate level. Sometimes we take for granted the power of prayer. Our Father tells us to pray at all times, in both times of rejoicing and times of tribulation. Colossians 4:2. Romans 12:12. He tells us to approach boldly with confidence and without a doubt. 1 John 5: 14. Hebrews 4:16. James 1:6

Many people have asked how do I know this trip is truly God’s calling for me? The best response I can give is something someone told me a few weeks ago. (and this not a word for word quote) “God is not going to hand you a post-it note with the details of what He wants you to do. Take action in things that glorify Him as long as you have discernment and stay close to His word you just have to keep trying and He will guide you.” You can’t just sit around and hope something happens. That’s like sitting on the couch watching a workout video and hoping you’ll gain muscle. That’s just not how it works. But you also don’t just do whatever your heart’s desire is; no matter how good it may sound. (Our hearts are pretty wicked you know. Jeremiah 17: 9) You have to use prayer, have discernment and keep looking deeper and deeper into His Word, and trust that He is guiding you through what is best with every step you take.

I have been praying about this trip specifically and looking for wisdom and guidance for over a year now. And honestly this process has strengthen my relationship with the Lord in ways I would have never imagined. I always had a surface base relationship and I thought that was just as deep at it goes for believers; but thankfully I was wrong. Looking back (even by just a month) I am almost unrecognizable in the ways that the Lord has changed me. Each day the Lord is reshaping and refining me and helping me grow, and I am ecstatic to see the continual process.

Okay but now we are getting off topic. So lets talk about how prayer has lead me to be confident in this Race.

About a year or so back when I was 18 I had this urge to travel the world and help God’s people. No big deal; just go to multiple countries and help multiple people by sharing the gospel and serving them..  What? That’s just a crazy idea. I’m just a kid, I have no money, no travel experience, I am not a a trained missionary. WHY would I do such a crazy thing and HOW would I pull off what is seemingly impossible?

SPOILER ALERT: Only by the grace of God of course.
