Cambodia… our last month on the Race…

I made a promise to God last month in Vietnam.  Here’s what I said:
“God, if you could please put my team out in the bush… alone… with something new to do each day… a group of kids to teach… then I promise I won’t miss a minute of it.”

My team was the only team that didn’t know our assignment coming in to Cambodia, but as soon as we met our contact in Phnom Penh, we found out that we were leaving early the next morning for House of Love.  And my heart went: YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!  Didn’t know anything but that we were alone in a village.

The next morning we meet our interpreter and he convinces us to pile all 5 of us into a tuk tuk, with ALL of our stuff.  On the way, we learn that we are 45 minutes outside of the city (far enough to be away, but close enough to come in on our off day for some much needed air con & wifi).  And I say: YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!

We pull into House of Love and see a two-story building that we dub The Treehouse.  Yes, we will be sleeping in our tents on the 2nd floor in the hottest country yet.  As we sit there melting, he tells us that we will be teaching English at 3 different schools.  Again, my heart screams: YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!

And with one week down and two more to go out here, I am having such a great last month.  I am loving EVERY single minute.  I am diving in and giving my all each day.  And every morning my heart sings:  YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!

Thanks God.  I love this month, this village, these kids.
