I’ve decided that, yes, God does, in fact, love me.  Not just love me, but adore me, cherish me, really desire to bless me.

For a while, I doubted this…  Not sure why.  It was easy to tell others how much God loves them, but in my own life, I just couldn’t see it.

But God knows me so well, He knew He’d have to convince me over time, through a series of small events and actions.  He knew that I’d need logical proof and a very slow & gentle easing into really being loved by my God.

So it’s the small blessings that have proven time after time that He really does love me…

sleeping in a bed with sheets
the phone call 5 minutes before I buy 20 bus tickets it turns out we don’t need
a free meal at a 5 star hotel
a child yelling out “hello, how are you?”
an e-mail from a friend I haven’t heard from since August on Christmas day
a cup of drip coffee
rain not starting until I get back from running errands
getting to see things around the world

Through these tangible things, I’ve learned how to feel His presence and really get it… get how much He loves me…

It’s like that shudder you feel when you start dating someone new and they walk in the room…

That’s how the love of God feels to me…  like a shudder.

  I never, ever want to lose this shudder… this ability to be loved by God.

And if I doubt it, the Bible reminds me how much He loves me.

6
Place me like a seal over your heart,
       like a seal on your arm;
       for love is as strong as death,
       its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
       It burns like blazing fire,
       like a mighty flame.
 7 Many waters cannot quench love;
       rivers cannot wash it away.

       If one were to give
       all the wealth of his house for love,
       it would be utterly scorned.

Song of Soloman 8:6-7

 Just one of the ways He loves me: I got to see the pyramids!

**Plans have changed:  we’re staying in Kenya for the month!  My team heads out with Team Oasis to Busia tomorrow!  A town on the border of Kenya and Uganda to work with a local pastor, his church, and his many ministries there.**
