$16,261.40

I vividly remember sitting in Lemonjellos a year ago applying for the World Race and staring at this number thinking there was no way that I would be able to raise that much money. Every time I entertained doubts about whether the Lord was really calling me to the Race, I found this number intimidating me as it loomed even larger despite the money coming into my account. I was convinced that it would take a miracle to raise $16,261.40.

One year later, it seems entirely appropriate to be writing this blog from a Cambodian coffee shop that closely resembles LJs, I am elated to announce that I AM OFFICIALLY FULLY FUNDED!!!

And you know what? It was a miracle. According to NT Wright, miracles aren't spontaneous moments where everything just comes together; miracles are a result of people's continual obedience to the Lord. Let's be honest, $16,261.40 did not suddenly appear in my account. It took a lot of incredible people over the course of a year to get here.

So, to all my financial supporters; thank you for being apart of this miracle and for being obedient to the Lord's promptings. Words do no justice to the mess of emotions in my heart right now. I am humbled, overjoyed, amazed, shocked, astonished, overwhelmed and in awe. God moved in mighty ways through you and I am so blessed to have you accompany me on this journey.

It has been through your obedience that the Lord has taught and humbled me time and time again. In December, He asked me to step out and bluntly ask for help (something my prideful and independent self still can't believe) and you answered, providing over double the amount I needed in less than 5 days time. It has been through your obedience that I have experienced firsthand what it looks like to have the body of Christ rally around you. It is because of your obedience that I can no longer go through life with a tight fist; your generosity has inspired me to give freely and not be tied to money that was never mine to begin with. It is because of your obedience that I can now boldly proclaim with unwavering confidence that our God is a god who provides.

Because of your obedience and generosity, I will not be returning home the same person. Your support has provided me with a life changing experience that has forever altered the way I see the world and my role in it. You have helped launch me into a new reality where living missionally (regardless of where that happens to be) is the norm and where I will daily strive to live a life of radical obedience to the One who spoke the world into existence.

So even though "thank you" doesn't even begin to cut it, it will have to do.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

ALSO: A very special thank you to the 6 anonymous donators who together contributed $3,000 dollars. Don't think you were going to get away without at least some recognition 🙂  You amaze me and inspire me. The Lord will reward you for He sees what you do in secret (Matthew 6:4).

To God all praise and glory.
