Yes, as you are scratching your head in wonder at this picture, it means I’m in HONDURAS, not Bulgaria!  Yeay! J Route got re-routed and it was only the 2nd day of launch! That’s the world race for ya.  The reason for the shuffle is due to that hug athletic competition going on in Europe (for you all living under a rock, I’m talking about the Olympics) so flights were more expensive.  So, new route tentatively: Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Bulgaria, Romania, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Uganda, and last but certainly not least, Kenya!  God has already gone before and planned this all out so I know this is the best route or my team and I.  In conclusion, it took a 4 hour flight to Costa Rica, about  a 6 hour drive to Nicaragua, stayed in a hostel (it was surprisingly very nice), got up at 6 am and drove 8 hours to Honduras!  So yeah, long travel day, but well worth the wait.
We arrived at our ministry site around 2 pm in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, which is the capital city of Honduras.  We are staying at a young ministry which is a boys’ home to help rehabilitate boys off the street and build relationships with them by bringing love and hope in their lives.  When we pulled up, we were immediately greeted by a group of 8 American college students here for a short term mission trip that helped us unload the bus.  Some of the boys at the home even helped too.  We are staying as a squad the entire month, yes, all 56 of us in one place! (Holla G-Squad <3 you!)  So needless to say we are “tenting it” for our own privacy.  Half of us are living in our tents inside the facility (which used to be the worst night club in Tegucigalpa)

And the other half are outside on the grounds.  Our ministry this month will look like anything from: street evangelism, working in a government funded girls club, remodeling our ministry site (flowers, paint, building a porch, etc.) and sports ministry in a colony.  Our most important job is to build relationships with the boys and other teenagers to show them examples of love and the love of Christ.  The site is nice, our host is AWESOME! (He’s from Utah) and the country is undoubtly wonderful and beautiful at the same time.  I feel like this is going to be a pretty good darn month and God is going to do some amazing things through G-squad and with Zionsgate Ministries.  I am so excited to start my world race journey in Honduras and I still have to pinch myself every morning that this is my life.  God is soooo goooood!!

Stay tuned!  Believe me, the adventure is just getting started and I can’t wait for all of it! <3 I’m so excited for all of this.  I am blessed immensely.

LOVE!
