Well my time in India has ended and my time in Romania begun. The transitions between continent, country and culture has been somewhat drastic. The way of the Western world I grew up in is found here whilst the Eastern culture I found myself in last month is long gone. I do miss it. This month my team as well as two other teams from I-squad are held up in the beautiful countryside of Romania at Seventh Spring- a summer camp/retreat center. Beautiful hills, sheep, and cottage like homes surround us, far from any metroplis, God's handiwork is everywhere. The nights are especially dark and this is probably the quietest place I've been in a long time.I love it. My teammates have joked often about being in the middle of nowhere, because we kind of are and I still don't know that name of the town we're living in. :/ I do know though, that the nearest city is called Arad, about a 40 minute taxi ride away and the closest "store" is a 5 minute walk that has a random assortment of goods like: shampoo, apples, and a shop of expresso for one lei (Romanian currency.)

Our month of ministry is all manual labor, we plant, we plow, we hoe the ground, we dig trenches and chop and move logs. All these are preperations and maintence work that needs to be done so that Seventh Spring is up and ready for it's summer campers. Our days start at 9 and end at 5, Monday through Friday. Thankfully, this month, has been somewhat slow. We’ve had rain and snow days that have prevented us from doing our outside work and inside we’ve been holed up, spending time with one another, reading books and the bible, playing games, and watching movies. It’s honestly been a sweet blessing and a nice break from the past 6 months on the race. I’ve been praying for a “vacation” and in some ways, I feel like this is a bit of a rest period we have all needed. Here are some pictures, do enjoy.
