We are in month 10 of our journey here on the World Race. I am continually amazed at how far we have come. We, a squad of 55 people, and 9 teams left in January to being this trek around the world. We are now down to 49 people and 7 teams after sicknesses and journeys changing. We are in October and in our 10th place and our 10th ministry and have seen a lot this year. We are now in Timisoara, Romania working with an after school program for underprivileged children called the Potter’s House. We are helping clean up around the Potter’s House but also being able to interact with the children of the center. We also were able to take part in a Wednesday night service and just encourage. The girls involved were so open and raw, something I haven’t seen much of this year. It was as if they knew they could open up and not because of us or who we are but because they knew what it meant to be honest about where they are in life. It was amazing and one of the most sweet times on the race. I am really enjoying where God has me right now.
My team feels so right, so happy(we laugh a lot) and God has just used them to bring me genuine, simple joy. God is using them to show me to be joyful with a good attitude. This team has brought me so much life.
Romania has been so great so far. Our contacts, Dwight and Melissa Poggemiller are from the states and have lived in Romania for about 6 years now with 3 children. We have fallen in love with this place and these people all the more because of their hospitality and love and knowledge of this place. Dwight and Melissa live out a life that motivates and encourages people around them. We are treated like family and live in a place where we feel at HOME.
The people of Romania are warm and hospitable and love without hesitation. These people love Jesus and live out their lives for Him. The people here have vision and drive that I am learning from and am encouraged by.
God is constantly blessing me through my team, through our contacts, and through our friends we are making. Praise God.
