As we drove across the bridge, Simone (our new friend) kindly reminded me that the bridge is 60 km/h which led us into the conversation about our drivers licenses and if they apply here in Australia. We told her that we were pretty sure we could use our drivers licenses here in Australia but for only a short amount of time. We think they are valid for around 20 to 30 days.
The next thing I know is that I have a cop right behind me turning all of the turns with me and following me closely. I’m like there is a cop behind me and Holly is like oh your fine. I’m thinking that I have done something wrong. I mean I am in Australia, a new place, and on the left side of the road…..The cop follows me all the way to Simones and his lights go off.
I take my seatbelt off to move around and get my license and Holly is like “What are you doing?!” “Put it back on!” I hadn’t even realized what I had done. The seat belt locks up and I can’t put it back on! I keep pulling and it keeps locking! Holly says “Just Get Out!” SO I get out. We say goodbye to Simone and I wait for the cop…….dum, dum, dum……….
So apparently Australia does a lot of random breath tests……Lucky Me.
So I got pulled over to do a breath test…….Funny. He looked at my Tx Driver license and i passed.
