First, let me apologize for not blogging very much. We are out in a small town in Africa. There is hardly any internet and when we do have internet we can only be on for about 5 mins.

The short quick answer to what we are doing: We are going to a high school, feeding the students building relationships with them, running fun games and events for them and sharing Christ with them. The youth here are very neglected and don’t have many programs for them. Because of that, many of them get involved in drugs, alcohol, etc and become addicts.

Solomon (our ministry host) has been wanting girls to be apart of the ministry. The whole ministry is full of men, with the exception of a few women and their children. Its been hard for Solomon to get women to be a part of the ministry when he has only be concentrating on what he knows best how to do (teach young men about the gospel). At the school we have been going to, the girls are to shy and usually hesitant to try new things. As Americans we have a weird power being at the school. They are very influenced by what we do and what we believe. They want to do what the Americans are doing so when we go to the ministry, they are more likely to come. The past few days we have been getting to know the girls and playing games with them. This week, after getting to know them for a few days, we were able to share the gospel with them. They had heard it before, but not the way we explained it. A lot of the women here are very insecure and very shy. Many have not been told that they are beautiful, worthy, or that they are loved. Some of the women I spoke with had been brutally abused as children and many did not have fathers in their lives. While speaking with a young girl one day, I mentioned how beautiful she was. She seemed shocked that I would ever say that. No one had ever told her she was beautiful. It’s truly been a blessing to be here and to be able to share the love of Christ.
