HELLO ALL.

My name is Lynda Watson and I’m from Greenville, South Carolina. I currently attend College of Charleston and I am about to graduate in about 3 weeks! I study Communications and I’m a minor in Spanish, however my heart has never really been for school work or the American Dream.

When I was a Freshman, I joined the Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) ministry and God really began to change my desires for the world. My passion has always been traveling since I traveled for soccer a lot as a child. Throughout my years at college, I’ve been able to experience places like New York, Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Panama, and more. I love meeting new people, building relationships, and sharing with them the love that God has shown me.

Yes I could tell you that I like chocolate… lots of it. That I like outdoor things, sports, friendships, the beach, and adventures. I could tell you that I’m terrible at making decisions and being direct, I’m always late, and I am probably one of the slowest moving people you would ever meet (except when running to the cupcake store). I could tell you that I have 2 parents, an older brother who is a doctor, and an older sister who is a nurse. I could tell you that I have a black lab, a cat, and I’m currently mourning a deceased hermit crab. I could tell you that I am mature in thinking but very immature in my actions. I love to beat up my friends, laugh a little too much, and carry on deep conversations until 3 in the morning.

These things may define me or describe me, but for me, I desire my faith to be my only true identity.

Because of God and how He has changed my life completely (just ask people that have seen it), I have the desire to GO. I have the desire to leave my family and friends. I have the desire to leave the comfort of my home, community, and the abundance of things that I have. I have the desire to do these things because I’ve tasted something far greater– Jesus Christ. This is why I am going to travel to 11 countries with only a backpack for an entire year. This radical life is what I have chosen and I pray that if you get to know me, then you’ll get to know Jesus as well. I pray that you will pray for me. I hope that we can all remember this life isn’t just “about me”.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us… Hebrews 12:1
