Yes, that's right. Training Camp SUCKS!
Training Camp SUCKS you out of everything that you ever thought you knew…
… about Jesus.
… about your life.
… about worship.
… about the people around you.
… about the Holy Spirit.
… about portion size (and the questionable food inside those portions).
… about appropriate living, sleeping, and hygiene conditions.
… and more than anything else: about yourself.
And it SUCKS!
It might be painful…
It might make you laugh…
Or cry…
Or clench your fists…
Or all three at once.
God moves in a mighty way at this crazy 8-day experience called Training Camp. You enter the week as nearly 60 complete strangers who have been placed together into a "squad" to reach the nations. You're scared, awkward, and doubting your choice to follow this call in the first place. After 8 short (yet unexplainably long) days filled with wild (yet incredibly life-changing) experiences, you leave this place as a family.
You encounter God in ways that you never thought were possible. You see Him move in people's lives and heal their broken pieces. He SUCKS you up out of the place of comfortable spirituality, and challenges you to meet Him at the next level.
You're embraced by this community of past and present World Racers who see something in you that you've never seen in yourself. They love you in an overwhelming, God appointed way.
They are the
walking,
breathing,
hugging,
singing,
crying,
cheering,
encouraging,
challenging embodiment of our Father.
They believe in you and push you to step up to the next level with Him.
And you WANT to make it to that next level. No matter how much it SUCKS. No matter how badly it hurts.
Because at the end of the day, God will always prove that He is worth the pain. He is worth the stretching and doubting of everything you thought that you knew. He is worth being broken,
confused,
and bitter.
Because… if you let Him, He will SUCK those things away. And what will be left will be someone who is STRONG,
BOLD,
and JOYFUL.
If God can do all of these things in 8 days, imagine what will be possible within the next year of our lives!
Hop on in, folks!
And buckle up… It's gonna be a bumpy ride! 🙂
