Surprise!

We are going to KENYA this month!

This month is "manistry" month for our squad, all our men are heading to South Sudan and my new team for the month was supposed to be working with very underprivileged children in a remote village of Uganda. But there is an outbreak of ebola in Uganda, especially Kampala, near where we were supposed to stay this month and so we are being evacuated. We found out last night after a 12 hour bus ride from Kigali, Rwanda to Entebbe, Uganda. I don't know too much about ebola, but it sounds really terrible and it spreads quickly and it is really efficient at killing people. I am sad that we won't be working with the ministry we are supposed to, but I am SO PUMPED for Kenya. This will be my third time to Kenya and I am so excited to be spending a month there with my temporary team of girls (Ada Grantham, Caitlin Roberson, Helena Jordao, Trena Corkern, Amanda Van Camp). The guys will still be heading to South Sudan. While this is all a surprise to us, God knows what He's doing and I couldn't be more excited!!!

We could all use a lot of prayer. Please pray that we are all able to make it out of the country. Pray for our logistics people, squad leaders and new team leaders as they scramble to put everything together. Pray that God would lead us and that we would find contacts quickly in Kenya. Pray for the men, for their safety, safe travels and that God would use them. And please pray for Uganda, the people and families effected by the outbreak, that there would be no more deaths and that the virus would be eradicated quickly.

THANK YOU!
