Every morning I wake up to the conflicting sounds of roosters and advertisements shouted from cars with loud speakers. Street dogs nap and meander around the town, some malnourished and mangey and others with collars and brushed coats. Clouds float past the volcano in the distance. Multiple houses along the street sell chocolate bananas, papusas, clothes and other odds and ends out of their homes. Life in the mountains of El Salvador is slow and beautiful.
