So friends, I leave in TWO DAYS! On Tuesday morning I will fly from Providence to Ft. Lauderdale where I will meet up with my squad. On the 13th we will fly to El Salvador and we will begin working on the 14th.
We will be working in San Vincente, which is about an hour away from the capital of San Salvador and it seems to be right next to a volcano. My team will be working along with one other team, Team Happy Feet, which I am very excited about. I do not, however, know what our living conditions are or what we will be doing.
I really hope that all of you will be able to keep up with my journey as well as share it with others. Time and internent willing, I plan to update weekly. Each month I will have a recap of sorts with things like highlights from the month, the weirdest food I ate and how my dreadlocks are coming a long, so keep your eye out for those! If you are not yet subscribed, all you need to do is enter your email address over on the left and you can sign up to recieve automatic updates about when I blog.
I can't even begin to thank all of you to the extent I would like, for your prayer, money and support. We are truly in this together, and I wouldn't be about to get on a plane in two days if it wasn't for you. You are just as much a part of this story as I am. Here are some ways that you can continue to support me:
PRAYER:
Please pray for traveling mercies as my squad travels from all over the country to Ft. Lauderdale, as we go on to El Salvador and our ministry locations and in our every day ministry. Pray that each person in our squad continues to meet their financial deadlines. And please pray for our families as they transition from supporting us at home to supporting us overseas.
Please pray for health. I have a cold, and I am fervently hoping that I don't get really sick like I usually do this time of year. Please pray that my health would stay in good condition throughout the year, as many of you know how easily I get sick and am often affected by migraines and anemia. Pray for the health of the squad, that our contact with mosquitos, bad food or water and disease would be minimal.
Most importantly please pray for the Lord to preceed us in the hearts of those we will encounter, that we would be able to interact with them and each other with wisdom, honor, love and purpose. Pray that people will be spurred on to greater things through our lives, actions, words and blogs.
FINANCES:
God has blessed me enormously and has provided almost $9000, which means I only have $6500 left to raise by June! It will be hard to support raise while I am gone, so please consider how you might be able to contribute. There are many creative ways to scrape up some extra money such as holding a yard sale, selling your useless junk for way more than it's worth on e-bay or selling hand made items. I have hand made friendship bracelets that you can sell as well, just contact me if you would be interested in doing that.
SHARE:
Spread the word! Mention what I am doing to companies who might want some tax returns. Share my blog with your friends who are always surfing around on the web. Ask those prayer warriors you know to keep me and my team in prayer. Tell strangers at the grocery store about this crazy girl you know who is going around the world. Be apart of changing lives.
