You broke my chains of sin and shame and you covered me with grace.
You mend my life with your holy fire
You cover me with grace.
You are the hand that reaches out to save
I am set free oh oh oh oh
It is for freedom that I am set free.
And yes Lord, we are grateful for Your Grace and for Your Love.
You are the hand that reaches out to save.
I am set free oh oh oh oh
It is for freedom that I am set free.
— I Am Set Free, All Sons & Daughters
The person who stepped off a school bus and into the woods of Georgia is not the same person who set foot on a plane back to Massachusetts.
I have been broken, blessed,
changed, challenged, commissioned.
I have let go, trusted, accepted, believed,
cried tears of pain and joy,
laughed in the face of the enemy,
and because of the wondrousness of God.
I have been loved on, prayed over,
prophesied over, had truth spoken into me.
I have faced the past,
and caught glimpses of the future.
I have been set free.
The first night of training camp we were ushered into the pavillion where we would have our first time of worship together.
I attempted to swallow the usual negative attitutes I have harbored towards coporate worship.
As I gazed up into the white rafters above my head, I felt God wiping my slate clean.
I closed my eyes and let everything else fade away. I began to thank God, ten times, a hundred times.
I followed no rules. I followed no formulas. I let myself go, and God enter in. I truly worshiped.
Why be bound to who I used to be when I could focus on becoming who I am meant to be.
Why be bound to the past when I could be…free.
Last week I learned that I have spoken death over myself long enough.
I have believed the lies of the devil LONG ENOUGH.
I have lived in shame, doubt, depression, fear, frustration and regret LONG ENOUGH.
There are a few things that I would like you to know about me.
God loves ME. God likes me. God rejoices over me. God is pleased with me.
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR ME.
I am a daughter of the KING of KINGS.
The God of the angel armies FIGHTS FOR ME.
I am not a SINNER. I am a SAINT.
I AM FREE.
