Support Raising.
I'm not good at it and I don't like it.
I've gone on three missons trips in the past few years, and I will admit that I haven't done very well in this area. Although I'm very grateful, my parents paid huge portions towards my first two, and I paid almost entirely for the most recent one. Many other wonderful people have also helped me, but I mostly just waited and hoped that people would give me money without putting too much effort into asking. I really hate asking. I have many silly reasons, but none of them matter in comparison to following God's call. There is no excuse or room to be lazy, or scared, or guilty or apathetic about raising money for this trip.
So I'm asking you to help. Everyone who reads this.
I know finances are tight. I know you work hard to get and hold on to the money you make.
I know there are so many different people, organizations and companies that are all tirelessly trying to obtain your money.
I know I as a person do not deserve your time or money, but God and His kingdom work do!
I know confidently that God has called me and my team to this mission, and that it is through you that He will enable us to complete it. By supporting this mission, you are enabling God to work through me to touch people overseas who need be fed and clothed, who need to be rescued from slums and brothels, and who need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. And you are enabling me to bring these stories and experiences back to you and your communities in an effort to impact others to help those in need. (This is all so humbling.)
There are so many ways in which you can help.
Friends, I need $2,801 by the beginning of October. And I need another $3,000 (for a total of $6,500) near the beginning of December. In all I need a total of $15,500 and if I do not have this amount by July of 2012 I will be sent home.
If you have been thinking of supporting me at all, now is the time! Any amount helps. Truly.
$3 could pay for my food for a day.
$21 could pay for my food for a week.
$90 could pay for my food for a month.
$50 could pay for a visa.
$100 could pay for transportation between countries.
$150 could pay for lodging for a month.
$200 could pay for a plane ticket.
A pledge of $30 for 12 months by only 40 people will cover almost all the cost.
A one time gift of $200 by 74 people will cover all of the cost.
(I am including details on how to donate money at the bottom of this post.)
You can also help by buying a plane ticket to training camp or launch, traveler's insurance, or any of my vaccines or medicine, all of which are not covered under the $15,500.
You can also support me by frequenting my online store (www.hartsmark.storenvy.com). I am working now to get it running and I will soon be selling hand made items and other merchandise to support my trip. All proceeds will go directly towards the $15,500.
Just as I need to be creative in support raising, you can be creative in supporting me! You can donate frequent flyer miles, stuff sitting in your attic or garage that might have some resale value, gift cards or discounts to places like REI or Walmart or Amazon.com where I can get supplies and equipment, hand made items I can put in my store and anything else that might be helpful!
I want to thank those of you who have already donated money, time and prayer. These things have already been such a huge blessing! No matter how you may be able to help, please please keep me in your prayers. This is the single most important thing you can do to support me!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to consider supporting me. You are an amazing blessing to me.
