Hi everyone!
First, I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me! I’m blessed to be able to say that I’m over 50% funded! (51.98% to be exact.) I am so extremely grateful for all the love and support I have received, this journey literally couldn’t happen without it!
With that being said, I still have $1,545 to raise before this coming Friday to meet my launch deadline of $10,000 (which means donations must be made by Tuesday to be processed in time). I’m still $7,812 away from meeting my final goal of $16,267.
If supporting me is something you feel led to, then here are some of the different ways you can do that.
- Prayer- 1 John 5:14 says “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” Prayer is very powerful, and I need prayer more than anything else. I am asking people to commit to faithfully, consistently praying for me daily. I have set up an email list of everyone who has committed to this, and in the emails I will be asking for prayer for specific things, such as raising support, travel days, my team and squad, and anything else I need prayer for. If you would like to commit to being a prayer partner and be put on the email list, fill out this google form here: Prayer Partner Sign Up Form
- Direct Donation- This is the simplest, most efficient way you can financially support me. Just click the “Support Me!” link on any page of my blog and 100% of the money you donate will go straight to my World Race fund. If you prefer to pay with cash or check, contact me at (513)594-4498, [email protected], or Facebook message and I’ll give you further instructions on how to donate that way. This donation is tax deductible as well, since Adventures in Missions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization!
- Buy a raffle ticket- I’m selling raffle tickets for $10 each, and the winner of the raffle will win $500! There’s more info and instructions on how you can do that on my blog post here: $500 Raffle!!! This will end Sunday, August 23, so buy your tickets soon!
- Benefit Dinner- Next Sunday, August 23, I will be having a Benefit Dinner, Going Away Party, Graduation Party combination. There will be food, a silent auction, a fire, and good company. It will start at 3:00 and it will be at 309 Heatherway St, Middletown, OH 40542. For the silent auction, I’m looking for donations of anything I can put in the auction. If you have anything, or have any ideas of where I can look, please let me know!
- Photography- Photography is one of the many things I am passionate about. On my website, lsherronphoto.com, I am selling prints of my photos and all the proceeds go to the World Race. The cool thing about this is that the (excellent) customer service is handled by the website host, and when you order a print, they send it off to one of the best print ships in the country and they handle printing and shipping. This means that while I’m on the mission field taking (hopefully amazing and inspiring) photos, I can keep putting them on my website as internet permits where I am, and you can purchase prints right away!
- Coffee Table Photo Book Preorder- This is a brand new one, and something I’m really excited about! Going along with photography, as I am out on the mission field, I’ll be documenting my experiences by taking photos, journaling, and blogging. At the end of my race, I’ll put together a coffee table photo book that documents my trip and experiences, mainly through photography because that’s where I’m more gifted, but supplemented with text describing the photos and the different ministries and countries along my journey. Since this is a documentation of my journey, it won’t be completed until I’m back in the US in August 2016 when I will already be done fundraising. So to raise money for the World Race, I am selling pre-orders of the book, and when I return and have the books made, you’ll get the book then. I will be selling the books for $70 each (I would like to sell them for less, but they’re not cheap to make!) As an extra when you pre-order a book, I will also give you a coupon for 20% off your entire order of prints from my website, lsherronphoto.com! To pre-order a book, go here: Photo Book Preorder.
- Donate Personal Spending Money or Gear- While the $16,267 I’m required to raise covers every necessary expense of the race such as food, travel, sleeping arrangements, etc., the 2 things it doesn’t cover are gear and personal spending money on the Race.
- Personal Spending Money: Everything I NEED on the field will be covered in the amount I’m required to raise, however, it doesn’t cover extras such as extra food (let’s face it, I eat A LOT), coffee in Central America where I’ve been told it’s absolutely amazing, or fun things to do on free days like going on the longest zip line in the world in Costa Rica, bungee jumping at Victoria Falls in Zambia (I am definitely doing this one!), or petting tigers at the tiger sanctuary in Thailand (I love tigers!) to name a few.
- Gear: I have most of my gear already, but there are still a few things I need, and the cost of those few things adds up.
- Obviously, this all comes secondary to raising the $16,267 required for the trip, but if you feel led to support me in this way, it would certainly be a blessing! If you want to support me this way, contact me via phone / text at (513)594-4498, email at [email protected], or message me on Facebook.
Once again, thank you so much for all the love and support I have received! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the compassion everyone has shown me. Thank you for being a part of my journey!
