Hey everyone!
I’m Luke Sherron. I’m 21 years old and I grew up in Middletown, OH, near Cincinnati, OH. I’m currently finishing up my last semester of my undergraduate studies. In May 2015 I will graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. A few of my greatest passions are Architecture, Traveling, and Serving (not necessarily in that order).
After graduation, instead of going straight into the working world or grad school, I have the incredible opportunity to live out my passions (or at least the travel and serving part) by going on this adventure known as the World Race! On the World Race I’ll spend 11 months traveling to 11 countries serving “the least of these.” I will travel to:
Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. (You can learn more about these countries here: http://www.theworldrace.org/?tab=routes&subtab=sept-2015-3 )
I’ll be leaving the comfort of the states in September 2015 to travel to these countries and live like the locals live and spend my time loving and serving them. Serving will look different in each country, and will include things such as teaching children, working with orphans, church planting, working with victims of human trafficking, building homes, or whatever God calls us to do at the moment. I’ll do all this while having the privilege of seeing the amazing beauty and creation God gave us that we call earth. God gave me a heart for others, and I intend to leave a positive impact wherever I find myself, and be wrecked and radically changed into a better person along the way.

Please join me as I prepare for this amazing journey to challenge the status quo, try to make this world a better place, share the love of my amazing savior, and see some of the incredible things this world has to offer. After all, this isn’t about me, it’s about the kingdom of God. There are a few ways you can support me in this journey.
-Follow my blog. Writing isn’t my greatest strength, but I’ll do my best to keep you updated and compensate with pictures. We would all rather look at pictures than read anyway, right?
-Pray! There is power in prayer and with your prayer and God’s faithfulness I’m confident that some amazing things will happen.
-Consider supporting me financially. As you can imagine, a once in a lifetime trip like this takes a little bit of money, $16,267 to be exact. If you are interested in helping me love others by supporting me financially, click the “Support Me!” link, or contact me if you would like to support me in any other way. I couldn’t do this without your generosity!

Here are a few things about me.
-I have the best family ever! My parents are extremely supportive and I have them to thank for the amazing opportunities I’ve had in my life. I have the best brother and sister in the world, and there is never a dull moment when they’re around.
-My friends are amazing. They are an amazing support system and I can thank them for most of the fun I’ve ever had in my life.
-I love dogs! I’ve had 3 and they just make life so much better.
-I love snow and the winter, but I also love the beach and the summer. I also love mountains and the ocean. If you ever find a place with all those things, let me know so I can move there immediately!
-I tend to like anything that is blue. More often than not you’ll see me wearing mostly blue.
-I’m a firm believer that it’s not an adventure until something goes wrong. It’s funny though because something always goes wrong, so it’s usually an adventure!
-My birthday is on April fools day.
-I LOVE coffee! Especially Cuban coffee, that stuff is like crack!
-I spent 8 months in Lake Tahoe, California for an internship, and Lake Tahoe has been my favorite place on earth since. I spent my free time there snowboarding at Squaw Valley and Homewood. I dream of living there long term whenever the opportunity arises.
-I spent the semester in Miami, Florida last summer for my third architecture internship. I had an incredible job there and it was an amazing experience. I love the culture in Miami, it’s like another country. Like they say, “Miami is so close to the United States you can go there any time you want.” I also have Miami to thank for introducing me to Cuban coffee.
-I love snowboarding, skiing, long boarding, wake boarding, traveling, and anything that gives me adrenaline! However, just because I said I love those things doesn’t mean I’m good at them, success is 99% failure after all.
-I love food, especially sweet and anything with chocolate and peanut butter together.
-I love photography.
-I love architecture.
-I love photographing architecture (among other things).
-It’s my dream to have a career serving people through architecture while traveling the world in the process.
-Tigers are the best animals ever.
There’s a little bit about me. Please contact me if you ever have any questions or want to hear more about this upcoming journey.
