When you’re asked, “What do you expect your trip to be like?”, you give answers like “it’ll be different”, or “we’ll be doing different things to help out the local community.” The truth is, I have no idea what to expect. Sure, I’m going to be immersed in local community and helping out wherever the need is, but that’s not the primary reason I’m there. I’m there to be obedient to whatever God wants me to do. Preach the Gospel, teach English, construction project. All those things! I’m called to love the people that God loves and be the hands and feet of Jesus. I do have a few expectations of my own though:
- See lives touched and changed by the power of God.
- be challenged by my team and grow in new ways.
- I hope to be able to encourage those around me to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and walk where he says to go.
- Last but not least, come back home different from how I left. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow and that very comforting. He is perfect and I’m believing that he’s going to transform me into a different person by the end of November 2015.
