So it’s July 23, 2010 and we are now into our last week
here. Amazing how fast it goes but when you’re in it, it didn’t seem to. We
have made a lot of connections to many kids and people. Many I won’t ever
forget. And it’s hard not being able to post pics yet. When I do, there will be LOTS. So be prepared. I
have gotten a lot of the kids faces and they LOVE it. They are always saying
photo and posing. They have such a joy
in them that I love. They are always happy, or at least around us! lol IT is
very inspiring. When we see adults around here they have that look of “why are
you here?”. Well not everyone, but there is a majority it seems. It doesn’t
bother me, but it affirms the point that Jesus states that we must be child
like with our love. Not just for him, but for everyone we come across. Very
good lesson to learn. But much harder to apply as we are “taught” to not trust
and over think things and have a pre-conceived notion about people and things.
Well that is what I’m….we’re striving to change one person at a time. So maybe
you should try to do that too. Don’t be too quick to frown at someone. Smile.
Talk to a stranger on a plane. I met an awesome person on my flight to the
world race launch. It won’t always work out, but you will know that you did your
part. So if it doesn’t, just move on. Don’t let it discourage you.
Things are going well here. Getting very use to rice and
beans. It gets monotonous but it’s food. It has been raining more than it has
been so that has cut into our team time, but has given us the reason to go to
bed earlier and get more rest so it’s good and bad I guess. We are planning on
going to a resort type place to relax tomorrow and it’s Jeremy’s birthday so
it’s a double whammy for us. So that will be fun. It is about 2 hours away so we will have some
drive time but it should be all worth it. There have been rumors of ice cream
there so….yeah. It WILL be all worth it….YUM. The notion of a cold drink here
is foreign. So anything that is below room temperature is exquisite. So that is
the plan for the next day. Hope things are going well back home. Love you all!
