Jambo (Swahili for hello) from Nairobi,
Kenya! I arrived here with my squad Tuesday morning. We’ve been
staying at a hostel in the city for some time of debrief. We’ve all
been surprised by the cooler weather here. Compared to southeast
Asia, where we sweated constantly, this is a big refreshment. We are
even pulling out our sweatshirts and jeans – it’s amazing and
wonderful!
I just found out where my team will be
this month for ministry. We are going to the city of Nakuru; it’s a
few hours northwest of Nairobi. As always, we aren’t sure exactly
what we’ll be doing, but it may involve working with orphans or
people in the slum areas. We will be partnering with a church there
and staying in the home of the church leader. So, please be praying
for our ministry in Nakuru, whatever that my look like.
Also, we’ve had some other changes to
our race route. We no longer have any “Ask The Lord countries
but know where we’ll be going for our other months. Here’s an update
of the countries, although this can always change again!
June – Kenya
July – Tanzania
August – Uganda
End of August, first of September –
Ireland for the Awakening
(This is an annual conference for all
current World Racers and alumni. I’m very excited for this!)
September – Romania
October – Moldova
November – Ukraine
Five months down, six more to go. It’s
almost to the middle of my time on the World Race. I can’t believe
how fast it has gone already. God has really been teaching me a lot
and allowing me to see so many things. Our squad parents, Rozy and
Roger, challenged us this week to push through this time. We are
getting to the point where it can get tiring, but this is also the
time when God can teach us the most. I appreciate those who are
praying for me and my team/squad. Please continue to pray for
strength and endurance for our next three months in Africa and then
three months in Europe. I’m excited to see what God will do!
