After our third month on the race,
we’ve had many changes within our squad. We had three people chosen
to be new squad leaders when Mark and Kyla leave us after this month.
So, because of that, many of the teams changed as well. I’m still
with all the same girls, but we have two new guys. Brian and David
each moved to different teams, but we gained John Blair and Jedediah
Smith. We are a new team with a new name: Dynami (pronounced
thee-nah-me). Dynami is greek for Power. We hope to bring the
power of God everywhere we go on the rest of this World Race.

But we have this treasure in jars of
clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from
us. II Corinthians 4:7
I’m now with my new team in Kampong
Cham, Cambodia. We’ve had some cultural and religious briefing to
prepare us for ministry here. Cambodia is largely a Buddhist country.
There is evidence of Hindu influence as well. We went to visit
several temples today. It is so sad to see the stronghold Satan has
here. People bow and worship these man-made idols and offer
sacrifices to their ancestors. While walking around today, I didn’t
even know what to pray. I asked that God would tear these idols down
and that these people would recognize the truth. There is a God who
wants to have a relationship with them. He’s so much more than a
statue that can do nothing for them.

While here in Kampong Cham, my team and
I are working with an organization called University of Nations, a
branch of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Their ministry in Kampong Cham
is still very new, so we are getting in on the frontier stage. Since
Christianity is not well received here, the staff for University of
Nations is being careful to first establish good relationships with
the locals. They are doing this by teaching English and working to
get into an orphanage and prison. We will be helping with these
efforts. Please pray as we seek God for discernment in how to reach
the people of Kampong Cham.
