Here’s an update on my headache situation. God has been healing! Each day it’s been better. Yesterday was the first day I went without any pain medication and it didn’t bother me at all! Praise God! I have confidence it will continue to improve. Thank you so much for your prayers.
Now for another update. It’s month two of the race, and I’m in Darwin, Australia. I’ve had limited access to Internet so haven’t been able to send an update until now. We had a few days of travel. We flew from Auckland, New Zealand, to Brisbane, Australia, then stayed there two days. Just in our travels, it was amazing to see God provide. Also, when we arrived in Brisbane, we weren’t sure where we’d all be staying. Most of us had two days before catching other flights or heading to our ministry locations. God brought us in contact with some amazing people who opened their homes to us. They literally let us take over their house! We all found a place to sleep on the floor or in tents in the backyard. They also provided some food. Thank you so much Fran, Jamie and Kate! You all are such a blessing from God!

While in Brisbane, we had the opportunity to do some sight-seeing. The most exciting thing was visiting an animal sanctuary where I was able to pet a koala bear and kangaroos! So cool!

We eventually made it to Darwin, even after a canceled flight that had us spending a day in the airport. It worked out for the best though. My team and one other team (Love. Purpose. Power) are working at the Christian Outreach Center in Darwin. This is an amazing ministry where it’s a church that also runs this center where people can stay when they need to visit a doctor or have hospital visits. It mostly caters to indigenous people – Aborigines. We’ve only been here a couple of days and are still working on exactly what we’ll be doing, but already it’s been great to serve alongside the people here. I think we’ll have the opportunity to serve in many ways, from manual labor around the facility to building relationships with the people who stay at the center.
