I’m from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which is located across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, with the exception of one year when I moved to Hammond, Louisiana, with a good friend just for the heck of it! The area where I live is rural, relaxed and has very charming aspects to it. However, I am very interested in seeing the world and gaining broader perspectives!

I graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, MD, where I studied psychology, sociology, and dabbled in education courses. At 19 years old, after my freshman year in college, I started working at a Christian summer camp in Centreville, MD called Pecometh. (It stands for PEninsula COnference of METHodists.) This past summer was my 12th year working there, and needless to say, this place is very close to my heart. The reason I need to mention this place is because you’ll often hear me relate things to “this one time, at camp….” I’d like to apologize ahead of time for that, and for the obnoxious amount of Pecometh gear that I’ll most likely bring with me. After 12 years I just can’t help it! 🙂

Here are a few other things about me:

  • I’m 31, 32 in February.  I’ve accepted this fact but sometimes it still boggles my mind.
  • I try to eat healthy, use sunscreen, and take vitamins. I also forget to do these things a lot.
  • I need coffee, am exploring my taste in sushi, and am always reading something.
  • I have a mostly blind cat named Rosie who is too curious for her own good.
  • Cutting up magzines and making collages is theraputic for me.
  • The place in this world I would love most to visit is South Africa. Some of the kindest and coolest people I’ve ever met live there.
  • I’m pretty calm and laid-back.
  • Someday I’m gonna be a pretty good cook.
  • I love challenge courses, leading teamwork activities, Giant Swings, Zip Lines, etc.
  • My camp co-workers and I have taken the Myers-Briggs test. It seemed like we ended up referencing it every day. It’s SO helpful! I’m an ISFJ, by the way.

That’s all I can think of for now. Can’t wait to meet everyone!!!
