We have arrived in Malaysia. We flew into Kuala Lumpur yesterday and did a few hours sightseeing. Since KL seemed like a first world city, I felt pretty comfortable being a city girl myself. The people are friendly, though I did not expect the ethnic diversity. From just the faces, Malaysian people seem to have a background of Chinese, Indian, and Middle Eastern. Many people are Muslim here and many women are covered from head to toe.

Because of this, we need to be careful of the words (i.e. “Jesus,” “God,” etc.) we use and we cannot pray in public. However, my team has developed a system which I will not disclose right now.

In addition, I cannot disclose where in Malaysia we will be. I can say that we plan to build relationships and volunteer as English teachers.

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year! Yay! And we’re in Asia too! Yay! It’s always been a bit special to me because of my background. So if you would like to send me a red envelope, you can do it in the form of supporting me with the link above. I’m about $3500 short and the last deadline is March 1.

Thank you to all my supporters. I continue to pray that you will receive God’s blessings a hundredfold more than you invested.

One more thing.. We have a route change! In Africa, instead of the original route of Mozambique, Swaziland, and South Africa, due to the uncertain stability of Eastern Africa, we will be going to Swaziland, Botswana, and South Africa.

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Hay Fat Choy!
