I’ve had this conviction on my heart since the day I left home, and up until now, I’ve ignored it. It’s been three months, and I’ve kept this thing bottled up, overwhelming me, because of fear. Fear of rejection and offending the ones closest to me, and ultimately losing the people I love the most in this world.
My family.
You see, the hindrance of this conviction isn’t that by me bringing it into the light, I’ll lose them, but instead what will remain once I do. Where will they go when the Son returns and His children are called home?
My family means the world to me, and without knowing the full details of their walks, I’m fearful of their eternal life. I know I am not responsible for their personal salvation, nor’ do I have the power to change their hearts. The Spirit is the one that does.
The bible makes it pretty clear that no man, creature, or angel in Heaven will know when the Son of Man will return, but the Father will simply send Him when it is time. We have this understanding, but we also know that the Father won’t act until His work is done.
The Father doesn’t need any of us.
He simply Created us, to love us.
He wants us.
He wants every single person trapped in this world, to come home with Him.
That’s why He sent out His disciples. And that’s why He’s sent out me.
I’m living my life in obedience. Doing what the Father asks of me, knowing that He’ll return for us sooner. But, sooner might not be enough time. My family might not turn to You by that time. So ultimately, my work is drawing You nearer, bringing eternal salvation to the tip of our tongues, but also eternal damnation.
We all deserve a taste of Heaven.
That homeless guy that you walk past everyday on your way to work, the one you find disgusting, the Lord calls him His. He’s beautiful.
Your ex that cheated on you and broke your heart, the Lord wipes clean. He has forgiven them, and redeemed them. He willingly takes the lashes for them, and sees them as a perfect child.
Even your mother, who has been hurt over and over. By boys who claim to be men, and by father figures who claim to be fathers. She’s been lied to, and insecure for way to long. When the Lord sees her, He stops and smiles down on her because of her strength, and what shes accomplished in her life. Shes beautiful. Yea, shes so beautiful, but much deeper then you can see, her beauty radiates beyond what you could ever, ever, dream.
