When I first started making plans to raise support I didn't think I was going to do an actual fundraiser–it just didn't seem like a viable option.

But then one of my teammates posted something on Facebook about these bracelets they were selling. The bracelets looked really cool, but I wasn't interested…..until a few days later when another teammate started selling them…and another…and another….AND ANOTHER.

You know how sometimes God keeps putting something in your face until you're forced to pay attention?

So I had to check this thing out. Turns out Threads of Hope is a pretty amazing ministry and a partner with the World Race! It was started by a missionary couple to the Philippines who were heartbroken over families who felt they had to sell their own children into prostitution to provide for the rest of  the family. What could they do? God led them to provide home enterprises for these famillies in which they make absolutely beautiful bracelets that provide life sustainging income.

By partnering with Threads of Hope I agree to sell the bracelets, keep 50% of the profits to support my World Race trip, and send 50% of the profits back to the Philippines, to the families that made them. I received my 1000 bracelets only a few days ago and I am already having the BEST time selling them.
To all the girls out there— can you imagine getting one thousand brightly colored unique pieces of jewelry??

It's EXCITING and OVERWHELMING

My roommates and I just sat staring at all of them alternately exclaiming "So pretty!" "How did they do that?" "There's too many!" "I want all of them!" And trust me, you really will want all of them…..

So how do YOU get them? Well, if you are in Lynchburg or Richmond, you're in luck! I'm in both places frequently. Just let me know that you are interested and we'll make a time to meet up! If you aren't in either location, then I can mail them to you! The prices are 1 bracelet for $2 and 3 bracelets for $5 (50 cent postage charge for mailed bracelets). I also have friends and family who are selling them for me, and Ih ope to be able to sell at group events.

That is my exciting update on fundraising….that and the fact that I have raised $4,180.09 to date! How wonderful is God?!? Through His provision  I have already blown past the first deadline of $3500 which isn't even due until May 5! My prayer is that in the next couple of weeks I will reach the second deadline of $6000. With YOUR help, I know this is possible!
