We got to Romania Sunday morning. Its absolutely beautiful here. I love it. I’m really excited about this month. Our contact is great and I love the location and the ministry. There is a lot of spiritual darkness here (I’ll write about that later) and that takes a lot out of us, but overall its a good place.
I’ll tell you more about the ministry later, for now I just thought I’d tell you about how we got here. I haven’t done a travel day blog in a while so I thought I’d tell you about this one.
Saturday
8 am : Lilli and Rachel’s teams arrive in Odessa
9 am : Finish packing and get some internet
5 pm : Bus arrives to take us to Romania
6 pm : Depart from Odessa to go to Romania!
6:10 pm : Bathroom break #1
7:30 pm : Bathroom break #2, except I can’t go because none of us have any Ukrainian money to pay for it
9 pm : Bathroom break #3
Sunday
12:15 am : Arrive at Ukraine-Moldova border, the bus and our passports get checked by Ukraine border patrol
1:30 am : Exit Ukraine is stamped in our passports
2:30 am : Enter Moldova, bus and passports get checked by Moldova border patrol and passports are stamped for entering Moldova
2:32 am : Arrive at Moldova-Romania border, bus and passports get checked by Moldova border patrol again
2:46 am : Exit Moldova is stamped in our passports
2:51 am : Bathroom break #4 ( I FINALLY get to go)
3:06 am : Bus and passports get checked by Romanian border patrol and stamped to enter Romania
3:27 am : Leave border for Draganesti
10:05 am : Arrive in Draganesti
10:30 am : Go to bed!
Basically, that was the most thorough border crossing I have ever gone through. Our bus and passports got checked at least 4 times. Also, I discovered that Moldova is tiny. It took us about two minutes to get from the Ukraine side of Moldova to the Romania side of Moldova.
That’s just a little picture of what a travel day for us might look like. I’ll update you on ministry this month later!
