So this last summer started out like I thought it would: Graduate college, get an internship, make some money, and find time to settle down and get my career going. What I didn't know is that I was going to get real uncomfortable REAL FAST. For the longest time I've wanted to go overseas and serve the poor, heal the sick and love on the oppressed and broken. Up until now I've just been all talk, saying how much I desire to make a difference in the world but not actually following through with anything…that all ended this last summer. I worked up the courage to apply for The World Race, an 11-month mission project to 11 different countries, and by God's goodness I got accepted!

El Salvador
Honduras
Nicaragua
Thailand
Malaysia
Cambodia
Tanzania
UgandaRwanda
Nepal
India

Listed above are the 11 countries that God has called me to GO and SERVE and GIVE back to His Kingdom. In each of these countries I will be helping in many different ways including caring for the orphans, administering medical needs, feeding families, building homes and planting churches, teaching English to underprivileged students and so much more…WHOA….Sorry, but sometimes I read that last sentence and it still is surreal to me. This next year, from January 2012-November 2012 I will be giving up so much I've always known but never fully appreciated:
seeing my friends and family every day
clean water
security
comfort
the luxuries of air conditioning, heat, a warm bed, more than enough food (believe me…they're ALL luxuries)
And most importantly but always forgotten….my FREEDOM, my RIGHTS, everything that allows me to worship my Savior, Jesus Christ, in America without having to fear the unbearable consequences so many others face around the world even today.

But I'm doing it. I'm giving it all up because it isn't something I just want to do…it is my obligation, it is my duty, it is the sacrifice I have chosen to make because I know it is worth it. I am owned by Christ, therefore I owe Christ to the world. Call me crazy, but I'm doing it!

Choosing to go is really the easiest part about this whole mission trip. There is still A LOT that needs to be done before I leave in January. If you would like to support me financially, with donations, or through prayer PLEASE do NOT hesitate to ask me for more information on how you can be apart of this amazing opportunity. I am so encouraged and blessed by each and every one of you for taking the time to read this. Please subscribe to my blog for regular updates and spread the word! Bless you all! Peace 🙂
