“Nothing good happens before 6am.”

That was my tweet as I
arrived at the airport around 5:30 a.m. after I couldn’t find my train ticket
confirmation and my flight information wouldn’t print. I don’t know
why everything seems worse when it is still dark outside but it does. Anyways,
this post is not about what went wrong with my morning but what went incredibly
right. I don’t know if you’ve heard but God is in the business of redemption and
that is exactly what He did. (He is very good at his job.)

I arrived at my gate, with my pants falling down because I
thought I would forgo the belt to save time at security, and boarded almost
immediately. Awesome. [insert sarcastic tone here] I was too tired to be
flustered though. I found my seat in between a man and a woman.  I noticed that the woman was reading her bible
but in Nashville that is hardly considered abnormal. We exchanged pleasantries
and I promptly put in my ear buds and tried to go to sleep. It was still only
6:35am for goodness sake.

As we began the descent I took out my ear buds and gave up on catching some sleep and I began to talk to the woman next to me. She told me she was moving to Dallas within the month and was going there to file some last minute paperwork. She asked what I did and I mentioned the World Race. She was
genuinely interested in my trip and I luckily had some of those business cards
that someone on my squad suggested getting from vistaprint.com. (Seriously guys
if you haven’t already gotten those do it! You get 250 cards for free. You only
have to pay 5.99 for shipping) She then asked me if she would be able to donate
to my trip and after I shot up a quick prayer of glee I told her she could
donate through my blog. She then asked for more cards to share with her friends
and family. As we exited the plane I offered to pray for her. I mean am I a missionary or aren’t I?

So at 8:30 yesterday morning in the middle of gate C6 in Dallas, Texas I prayed for a woman I had met only hours earlier and I realized that God
is already using this Race to change my heart and life
. To have an adventure you don’t have to sign up for a missions trip but just intentionally live your life for Him. So newsflash….

 I’m a missionary y’all!!
