With your unfailing love you guide the people who have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your scared home. Exodus 15:13
This is my favorite verse in the entire bible. I really love the picture I get of God's relentless love going after His people to always bring them back to himself. Maybe because of moving around as a kid and being a complete nomad during my college years I have had a deep longing for a place to call home. Home is a place for roots and history. A place full of memories, life lessons, family, and friends that know more about you than you would ever want anyone to know. Everyone says "home is where the heart is" but what if my heart is scattered and shared?
BUT
Here's the thing. This is NOT our home. They think about only about life here on earth. But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. Philippians 3:19-20 Moving around has forced me to face and know that this earth is not my home. At times I feel completely displaced and adrift which forces me to remember I am only visiting.
Jesus you are my home.
You are my anchor.
You are my constant.
What a great lesson to learn before leaving on the World Race for 11 months, not that I've completely learned it yet. What is God teaching you right now?
