Team FUSE has been in Tanzania for two weeks now, and in my opinion it has been the most restful and peaceful place we have been.  We live in the country at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the view is breathtaking when the clouds are cooperative, which is most likely to happen in the morning.  There is plenty of space to roam around and escape from each other, and there is even a beautiful river where we are able to relax.  My favorite things to do here have been running by Mt. Kili in the morning, hopping around on rocks in the river, and reading/praying on the rock in the river which I fondly call “the lounge chair”.

                                                                         The view from Kimathi’s porch

We are staying in the guest house and backyard of a man named Kimathi and his family who have been very hospitable to us.  They feed us wonderful fruit and “joo-eece” (juice) and have generally taken us in as part of the family.  For the past two weeks we have been praying and worshiping for three hours every morning in the church we are partnering with, which is in the community we have been focusing on.  In the afternoons and evenings we have been doing door-to-door evangelism and fellowshipping with members of the church through Bible studies and prayer.

We knew we were in trouble when the Lord told Marisa at the beginning of the month that there would be an emphasis on deliverance.  We have seen people delivered of nightmares, sickness, drunkenness, and demons, and are ourselves being delivered of things we didn’t even know were holding us captive.  Up to this point, those needing deliverance have come to us; but the pastors in the area began to realize the power the Lord has been giving us, so we began yesterday traveling around to their churches to preach and pray for people.

                                                                                     FUSE with Kamathi

Jake and Ian left yesterday with all the men on the squad to do “manistry” with the Maasi tribe, which leaves the girls of team FUSE in Kilimanjaro to have some quality female time.  When we think about God using us to deliver and free people we can’t help but laugh; we don’t know what we’re doing.  With things in the supernatural I am learning to just step out, to go and be obedient, and then to trust Him that He will give me the things I need for what He is asking me to do at the time.

Please pray for our protection, that the Lord would show us specific things people need to be freed from, that He would empower our prayers, and that He would give us grace for everything we need along the way.
