Training camp is coming up this Saturday! I cannot believe it has arrived so soon. I will be meeting my family for the next 11 months. I will be worshipping with them, living with them, loving with them, and growing with them. I’m so excited! This journey that the Lord has called me to is finally becoming real! As camp approaches and I start to prepare myself both physically and spiritually, I’ve been thinking a lot about testimony. Looking back at my life through Christ’s lens, I can see the Hand of God at work throughout the years leading up to this moment. God has been working in my life all along and He has removed my blindness so that I can see how He has been working and how He wants to use me. I grew up with Christ following parents in a Bible believing church, but when I hit my teen years I turned away. I lived in open rebellion against my God through high school and college, choosing to live in sin and continuing to ignore the Spirit’s promptings. Then I met a friend who boldly proclaimed Christ’s name to me and shared his testimony with me. I was able to witness firsthand the transformative power of the blood of Christ, turning a heart away from drugs and alcohol to serve Him. God used this experience to draw me back into the Kingdom.
Our testimonies are our stories. They are the visible effects of Christ in this world. God reveals Himself in many ways, but He uses our stories, our journeys of faith to reach out to one another and glorify Him. Hearing someone’s testimony helps us connect with God through seeing His work in one another’s lives. There is no shame in your testimony. There is only hope through Christ. I cannot wait to meet my squad mates at training camp, hear how God is working in their lives, and be blessed to then become a part of His work in them!
“But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” John 3:21
God is moving!
