The work I will be doing this coming year has nothing to do with me. My usefulness is governed by my right relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. If I am not in a right relationship with God, my service cannot and will not bring me closer to Him. The effectiveness of my service is based on the Holy Spirit working through me, not me working for the Holy Spirit. In order to serve God in the way in which He intended, I must know Him intimately. What God will be able to do through me when I am growing in Him is unquantifiable. There is no limit to what God can do.
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:19-20
The Glory of God will be made known throughout the world through my team and me because God chooses to use us in His plan, but our joy is not in what we do, but in our salvation. The service we are able to do is a blessing that comes along with knowing Jesus, knowing the God of the universe as “Abba, Father.”
“At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.” Luke 10:21
I will rejoice in my Father’s name, the Lord, the Lord Almighty!
