This
is all still so strange to me- sitting in a bar making small talk with our
waitress who in a few hours will be making small talk with men who come to
purchase her for an hour or for the night. I am here in the Night Trip Bar
talking to Apple. It may seem like an ordinary work night for her, but tonight
is no ordinary night. The Lord wants to come and speak Truth that she is the
Apple of His eye!
We
are gathered at Night Trip to worship as part of Pattaya Praise. Pattaya Praise
is an annual intercession and worship event where churches and ministries
across the city come to bring worship to the darkest corners and pray healing
over this broken city.
As
the children of God began to sing His praise, light began to pierce the
darkness of this place, joyous laughter replaced the usual heaviness, and for
the first time hope was present here. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Apple
watching our worship with curious longing. I could just see the Lord drawing
her to Himself.
Amy
began to speak of the freedom found only in Christ. She shared her own story of
finding freedom and life in Jesus. She invited others who are searching for
more to come forward for prayer.
Apple,
along with two other waitresses, timidly come forward to accept the
forgiveness, life, and freedom of Christ. It was beautiful to see our new
sisters crying out to God. The she hugged each of us tightly with a huge smile
on her face. Apple was absolutely glowing in the love of God. For our last
song, she made her way forward, out of the corner where she was previously
standing, and danced in worship of her God alongside her new family. Her dance
of praise was one of the most beautiful sights I have seen.
Pray
for Apple. She has a long road ahead of learning how to value herself and how to
live as a daughter of God.
Pattaya Praise Update:
We will be continuing Pattaya Praise with prayer and worship around the city.
This event will continue until Sunday night. Please join us in praying for
freedom, healing, and salvation to come to the people of Pattaya. Tonight we
will be worshipping in Tiffany’s. This is a transsexual Cabret club and was one
of the first bars in Pattaya. It is seen as a root of a lot of the sexual sins
in the city. Today it will be a house of worship for God. Join us in prayer!
