I don’t know how many of you have been following the news about Kenya, but my heart is broken over the current condition of the country. Kenya has just finished their elections and the current president has just been sworn in for a 2nd term despite very questionable practices in counting votes. Widespread violence and rioting has broken out across the country, especially in the slums. People are beginning to split across tribal lines and ethnic cleansing is beginning in the nation. Just this week a group of people were burned alive inside a church in the one of the slums surrounding Nairobi. Tomorrow there is a march planned on Nairobi where large groups of people are planning to storm the capital city and overtake the current government. The violence is expected to increase greatly at this time.

Those of you who know me know that Kenya has captured my heart! I am concerned for my friends around Nairobi, for the safety of their families and congregations. Tomorrow (Thursday), as the march on Nairobi is occurring, I will be fasting and praying for Kenya. I want to ask you to join me. Please join me in praying for peace to be restored in Kenya. Pray for restoration of peace, reconciliation of relationships between the tribes, and the establishment of a secure government. Pray that the Lord will move powerfully on behalf of His precious children in Kenya. Also, please pray for the safety of my friends in that country. See the faces of these precious people and please remember them in your prayers.
