Month 12= The Lone Star State

Ministry= Rest and Recuperation

On November 20th, 2010, a new season began.

I said goodbye to both January squads after an epic airplane
reunion party: stories were told and videos were watched at 31,000 feet and
contact information was written down. Our last memories together were singing
the Star-Spangled Banner just before we landed at JFK. Yes, being gone for 11
months makes you appreciate America, the food, the culture, and the freedoms.

This month I will be spending time at home resting and
recuperating, and spending time with all the people I love before heading to
Gainesville, GA in January.

This year my heart broke for many things: poverty,
corruption, alcoholism, addictions, broken families, communities living in spiritual
and physical drought, the sick, the outcast, the lost, and the selfish. All
these can be found in America.

As I begin my next season stateside…. Here’s is an in-depth
look at the two issues that break my heart the most:

Street Children

Common causes include: abandonment, poverty,
natural and man-made disasters, physical and sexual abuse, exploitation by
adults, urbanization and overcrowding, orphaning as a result of AIDS/HIV and
more. The global extent of street populations includes India, Egypt, Pakistan,
the United States, Kenya, the
Philippines, and more.

My heart
is to intervene and provide a way out for street children around the world. I want to rescue them from a life built
on fear to one being ReBuilt on Love.

Commercial exploitation of children

Gainesville is located just a short drive from Atlanta, one
of the major hubs for sex trafficking in the world.
500: the number of girl’s sex
trafficked in Atlanta each month.
One out of three children who run away
from home will be trafficked within 48 hours.

These are more than just
statistics.

This is a reality for the children of Atlanta.

I want to be the ONE to bring justice in God’s name, declare that
THESE THINGS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I want to be the one to aid these girls
back to safety through Christian counseling and a place to stay. I want to rescue them from a life built
on fear to one being ReBuilt on Love.

I hope to bring Hope to
victims of these issues.

While in Gainesville, I hope to join the fight against
abandoned and exploited children! Will you help support this endeavor? CLICK
